Media Guidelines



CATS public relations staff is available to assist the media by providing information about CATS transit services, projects, statistics and more. Below are some guidelines to follow when requesting information about CATS.


All requests for interviews with CATS employees should be made to the public relations office by calling (225) 389-8928. We will try to provide a representative who can best address the topic of the interview.

While on CATS Property

If you want to shoot video, take photographs or conduct interviews on CATS property, you can make your request through the public relations office by calling (225) 389-8928.

Please allow our customers to enter/leave buses or facilities without obstruction. Do not block or restrict the movement of customers, drivers or vehicles.

Serious Accidents or Incidents

In the event of a serious accident or incident, CATS will provide general information on agency policies and procedures. Media will be referred to the investigating law enforcement agency for details regarding the specific incident.

Public Meetings

CATS Board and committee meetings are open to the public. We welcome you to observe meetings of our Board of Directors and committee meetings, and you may videotape and/or record these meetings. We will gladly assist you with placement of cameras and microphones as needed. Board of Commissioner Meetings are also streamed live through the CATS website at
