Starting August 15, 2026, CATS riders will have contactless pay options: new reloadable CATS x Geaux Passcards, or a smartphone app. 

CATS riders can download the app by searching for "Geaux Pass" in the iOS or Android app store. Riders can then set up their account, purchase passes, or add a balance to their account using a credit or debit card. The Geaux Pass app also has functions to help riders track their bus and plan trips.

Riders who would prefer a physical card can purchased at the CATS Terminal. Riders can then load their pass cards and buy passes online using our Geaux Pass Mobile website.

Change Policy

When paying with cash, "change" will be issued in the form of a "change card" which can be used towards fare on future rides. 

Transfers

Transfers are not valid on the issuing route. Transfers are valid for 2-hours from the time of purchase.

  • Transfer for second bus: $0.25
  • Transfer for third bus: $1.75

 

Disabled/ Senior Customers

Customers with a disability can ride CATS buses (fixed route) for $0.35. These customers are eligible for the disabled fare card.Customers can complete the application online or print it and send to 2250 Florida St. Cards that are stolen, lost, or damaged can be replaced for a fee of $8.00

Student Discounts

Students ride FREE with a valid Southern University ID, Louisiana State University ID, or BRCC issued Geaux Pass Card (cards/codes can be obtained from the BRCC SGA Office).
