CATS Brings Back Touchdown Express Service for 2017 LSU Home Football Games

August 02, 2017

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Capital Area Transit System will run its popular Touchdown Express service for LSU home games during the 2017 football season, the agency announced Wednesday.

Touchdown Express has transported thousands of football fans to and from LSU home games safely for several football seasons, keeping thousands of cars off of campus and out of traffic on game day. The service was canceled for the 2016 football season because of the strain placed on CATS’ staff and vehicles by the Baton Rouge floods.

“We are thrilled to bring back Touchdown Express for LSU’s 2017 football season, which promises to be an exciting one for the Tigers,” said CATS CEO Bill Deville. “We hope Tiger fans and tigerbait alike will get on board and let CATS safely deliver them to the game”

Touchdown Express provides local transit to and from LSU home games starting three hours before the game. The last shuttle leaves campus around an hour after the end of the football game.

Online ticket sales will begin at brcats.com on August 14. Before September 9, riders can purchase an entire season pass for all six home games for only $50.

The CATS Touchdown Express picks up and drops off at five locations around Baton Rouge, which are:

  • L'Auberge Casino & Hotel
  • Interstate 110 Underpass in downtown
  • Hotel Indigo
  • Hampton Inn Downtown
  • Belle of Baton Rouge Casino

Touchdown Express passes can be purchased at the CATS terminal in advance of the game, online beginning August 14 or from CATS staff at the L’Auberge Casino & Hotel and Hotel Indigo pick-up spots the day of the game. Tickets are $10 per person round trip.
