CATS on Demand Service Marks 10,000 Rides in One Month
CATS Paratransit Service Reaches 10,000 Ride Milestone in One Month
BATON ROUGE, LA – Capital Area Transit System (CATS) is proud to announce that it's paratransit service, CATS On Demand, has marked an unprecedented 10,000 rides of service in a single month, marking a major milestone for our ADA-eligible transit program.
This accomplishment reflects our ongoing commitment to serving the mobility needs of the ADA community. CATS On Demand provides safe, reliable, and dignified transportation for individuals whose disabilities prevent them from using standard fixed-route buses.
"We celebrate this achievement not simply as a number, but as a demonstration of our dedication to accessibility, independence, and quality of life for our riders," said CATS CEO Theo Richard. "Every ride represents dozens of journeys to work, to medical appointments, and to community connections that we are honored to support."
At a fare of just $1.75 each way for eligible riders, CATS On Demand offers affordable curb-to-curb service within the areas served by our fixed-route network.
CATS remains committed to meeting and exceeding the standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), ensuring that all riders, regardless of mobility challenges, have equitable access to safe and reliable transportation. We thank the community for their trust and look forward to continuing to expand mobility and freedom for all Baton Rouge residents.
