CATS to Waive All Fixed Route Fares on November 15 for Election Access
BATON ROUGE, LA – The Capital Area Transit System (CATS) will waive all fixed route fares on Saturday, November 15, to support East Baton Rouge Parish residents traveling to the polls on Election Day. This initiative is part of CATS’ continued commitment to ensuring that transportation is never a barrier to civic participation.
“We want every resident to have the opportunity to make their voice heard,” said Theo Richards, CEO of CATS. “By providing free transportation to the polls, we’re helping make the voting process easier, safer, and more accessible for our entire community.”
On November 15, riders can board any CATS bus free of charge throughout the service area. Regular routes and schedules will be in effect, and no passes or vouchers are needed.
