CATS is introducing Geaux Pass, a new fare-payment brand built to make paying for your ride simpler.

Launching in August 2026, Geaux Pass is a mobile app that lets you buy, store, and use your CATS fares right from your phone — no more searching for exact change or keeping up with a separate fare card. The name is a playful nod to Louisiana, and the idea behind it is simple: get you on the bus and on your way with less hassle. Geaux Pass replaces UMO as the official CATS mobile fare app.

If you already have fares on your UMO card, you can continue to use them, but we ask that you please do not reload or add money to UMO going forward. Instead, we encourage you to visit the website below and sign up for Geaux Pass so you're ready to go. You don't need a physical card to use a Geaux Pass. Everything you need lives in the app, but if you'd like one, you can pick up a physical card at the CATS Terminal at 2250 Florida Blvd. Nothing you rely on today is going away. Cash and magnetic fare cards are all still accepted at the farebox, so you can keep paying the way you always have while Geaux Pass gives you a faster, easier option from your phone.
