February 11, 2020

BATON ROUGE, LA - The Capital Area Transit System (CATS) hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning at the newly renovated Cortana Transit Center. "We are so excited to be here to officially open the Cortana Transit Center," said CEO Bill Deville. "This has been a labor of love and we are thrilled to be serving our loyal customers at this location".

The Cortana Transit Center serves half of the CATS fixed-route system. Routes 18, 21, 22,44, 46, 54, 57, 58, 59, 60, 72 and 80 all serve this major transfer location, connecting roughly 100,000 passenger trips each month.

"This is the first of our transit centers that we will be working to unveil over the coming years. We have conceptual designs of some of our other proposed transit centers, and we will be working collaboratively to bring those to reality as quickly as we can" Deville adds.

Additional planning and development projects can be found on the CATS website.
