November 1, 2018 - Baton Rouge, LA - The Capital Area Transit System announces the long awaited launch of a new mobile application to help riders track their buses on their smartphones or through the CATS website www.brcats.com on an interactive map. The RouteShout 2.0 app can be downloaded for free on iPhone and Android devices from the Apple Store or Google Play.
The upgraded app is available today for download; however, CATS riders will not be able to utilize the app until Wednesday, November 7, 2018. The current RouteShout application will have a "black out" period from Sunday, November 4 through 6, 2018 for data migration and testing.
Beginning November 7, 2018, riders will be able to more conveniently plan trips, reduce wait times at bus stops, and be notified of any schedule or route changes in real-time wherever they happen with their smart phone.

In addition to being able to follow buses to see how far they are from a bus stop, riders can also use "Locate Me" GPS function within RouteShoute 2.0 to determine the closest bus stop and save favorite routes and stops for quick look-up. Riders can enable notifications should emergencies, route changes, or weather conditions occur that may affect service.
The RouteShout 2.0 traveler information system is provided by Routematch Software, an Atlanta based transit technology company that works extensively with transit agencies.
