CATS Announces Service Adjustments Due to Anticipated Freezing Temperatures

January 25, 2026

BATON ROUGE, LA – In light of the impending freezing temperatures, the Capital Area Transit System (CATS) is implementing service changes on Monday, January 26,  All CATS services (fixed route, CATS on Demand and LYNX by CATS) will operate on a delayed start, beginning at 10 AM.  These measures are taken to ensure the safety of both passengers and staff during extreme weather conditions.

This proactive decision is in line with CATS commitment to providing safe, reliable and secure transportation services. The suspension in services allows our operations team to assess and mitigate any potential weather-related challenges, contributing to a smoother and safer transit experience for everyone.

CATS understands the importance of keeping the community informed, and passengers are advised to plan their travel accordingly. We encourage individuals to stay updated by visiting our website www.brcats.com, following us on social media @btrcats, or by calling our customer service line at 225-389-8282.
